engine knock

pretty sure i'm hearing an engine knock when in D at low speeds
changed my oil to RP 5w-30 today from M1 10w-30.

could it be the change in oil?
bad EGR?
taking it to the stealership tmo, they better not say i voided my warranty with an oil change and an exhaust.

edit: used cheap gas tonight after a few weeks of shell. maybe thats a factor.

Isn't engine knocking when the cars off? What your most likely hearing is engine chatter, which is common on our cars. Run a search on it and see if the symptoms are similar if not the same as yours. It's been linked to some valve issues that need tightening.

its not the chatter of the engine, that's distinguishable as far as i've been able to tell.
i've searched around here and the intarnets and have yet to find one as subtle or low rpm ended as mine, maybe i caught it early?

i dont think it was the exhaust that caused it, i did the math for the piping and it seems there isn't any excess in flow.
so maybe either the new oil or crappy gas... u_u

our cars are fairly new tho.. i really doubt its the gas cuz gas in the US has to be a certain standard and cars knocking was common back in like the 70s.. maybe u shud put up a video to record the sound . as long as ur changing ur oil consistently i doubt its that too..

Bad gas is more likely the cause. However. it is possible for you to get knocking from running a very lean mixture which could be a result of your exhaust. Unless you get a lot of backfiring I wouldn't think that could be te reason. Doesn't mean a dealer won't try to use it as cause to avoid warranty.
I think its bad gas though and you need to fill up with good gas and add a can of non-alcohol injector cleaner before visiting the dealer.
And its not from changing oil.

thanks for the advice.
i dont believe it to be the exhaust seeing as my HKS axle back hasn't given me backfire.
i'll just set back on the stock exhaust and take her in.
