I cannot find what gen 1 or gen 2 is or gd or ge can someone enlighten my simple mind as to what that all mean o mean i understand color codes but i am a little confused on the gen erations i mea n ithought they had 07 08 and not 09 models and then they had sport and base modles that was all i new. thanx

Its confusing cause this site says GD 01-08 and it also lists the GE as 08-09 cause overseas the GE started in 08. That link posted above will help you out though.

GD3s = 1st Generation.. from 2001 to 2008

GE8 = current Generation, 2009 onwards

Both are USDM models.

In Japan, its call GD1 and GD2, and JDM is GE6 and GE7

 

Something to remember also is this: The Fit is relatively new to North America, but has been in production since the 2001 model year in Japan and other countries.
