Question air intake, fuel economy and warranty

Does a cold air intake or short ram air intake improve fuel economy? If so, by how much? I'm trying to justify buying one. (if the savings in fuel economy is enough to pay back the initial cost within 5 years, then it's worth it!)

Also, does it void the Honda warranty if one is installed (I live in Canada)?

There's lot of info here:

But, yes it does void your warranty, if the dealer can say the damage was caused by the modification. Say you get hydro-lock due to the CAI sucking up water.

It can increase your MPG, but its all about how you drive.

The ones we've used here had little if any effect on mpg. At $300 you'll never justify purchasing one.

put the stock box back in for servicing and I've noticed an improvement in fuel economy, but again it comes down to how you drive...

QFT! Theoretically, it should increase MPG.... but many folks get addicted to intake noise and start mashing the throttle.
