Dont waste your time taking that out, its going to be more work than necessary. Are you trying to get this nut loose with the front of the car off the ground, or are you on the ground? When I took the struts out of the car they popped right out.

yeah that black panel that goes across the engine and the windshield wipers are on top of it

 

dude you don't need to do that. if you can't fit the gun in, go buy one of those adapters that allow you to use a socket and an angle, works wonders!

 

Didn't have to do that, but here's a run down on how to remove the black panel.

unbolt the 10mm of the windshield wipers, everything else is clipped on. just be careful when you pull because the plastic tabs can be easily broken.

 

that angle thing won't fit in the space where the strut is.

 

that angle thing is called a universal.
