yeah my brother wasted a night trying to fit it before he thought of matching the gasket to the header.

so by matching gasket to header...we talking drilling new holes in the gasket? Cuz thats EEEEAAAAASSSSSSYYYYY!!!!!

no. you match the gasket to the header to see what holes on the header will not line up, then bust out the drill and make those holes bigger

the holse on the header bigger? Its seems like that would cause the header not to secure correctly. Does your bro have an account on 8thcivic.com? if so pics would help.

yes, his username is woodmanfondu. he is not on it much though. Basicly the bolt holes on the header do not line up with the holes on the head. So you use the gasket, something that does line up, as a template to see what holes on the header dont match up. Does that make sense?

If im still confusing you, sorry. Send my bro a pm then he might be able to explain it better then me, he is the one that did the install after all, lol

Makes total sense im just paranoid about drilling onto a new part and wasting a bunch of $.

Ah Spring, Battery & Tires

Well, our '08 made it through the winter on the original battery so I thought I would replace it and check the air pressure on the tires.

Battery: I installed a Group 51R, 500 cold cranking amp, simply by removing the old one and the attending plastic battery "shields" and or tray, these were two pieces I did not bother to place back. I have read all this about the mods or changes to the area or the need for a battery shim on the positive (+) post, this is just not true. It is a close fit but it is a total no brainer.
BTW, this battery is a 72 month warranty and I paid $52.95 + tax and old battery.

Tires: Living without TMPS
Well aside from the (( ! )) light not coming on and replaced with the amber T M P S warning on constantly I can live with that. We installed non oem steel wheels from Tire Rack mounted with General Altimax Artic's, the pressure was off by 1 pound on all four tires so I opted not to put any in.
Speaking of the Artic's... in a word AWESOME.
If you ever had any reservations about winter specific tires, let me say the difference is like night and day. Wear on these tires is minimal and I will be taking them off come mid April. (It can and does snow in Wisconsin even in May) By that time I'll change the oil and filter.
Oh I was "sport driving" today doing some chores and hit the rev limiter , never done that before
Any feedback on log life touring tires for the Fit Sport?

I'll have 72 months on my OEM battery in July... I have a little motor cycle battery on hand to replace it with as needed...I'm thinking about using two of them to double the cold cranking power... They can be mounted away from each other too free up space under the hood for cooing fans to be mounted under the intercooler and an oil mist separator....I have a little over $1000 worth of stuff to put on it right now... Slowly but surely I'm getting it done.

Got all my supplies to paint red headlights to black, independent fog wiring , new spark plugs and rustoleum lense tint for orange reflector and middle portion of tail lights all to be done this week

What I did to Fit today

Not a glamorous job, but enjoyed giving the Fit a Spring cleaning by washing and waxing the exterior, vacuuming the interior, ARMOR ALL-ing the dash, and giving a good scrub to the all weather floor mats. Fit is looking good!

I pulled the seats out of the car again. Monday I hope to start on making the bracket for my shifterbox, we will see if I actually do though.

my plan is to do the tails Tuesday morning. i will post pics once its done.

i also used plastidip to color the bottom of my rear bumper black. i used tape and followed the body lines and it actually turned out pretty sweet i think. lots of pictures to take. plastidip is pretty much just awesome. spark plugs tomorrow morning (hopefully)

-JDM heater controls
-vacuum'd and cleaned the interior and glass
-put in my new OEM carpet floor mats

Are the jdm heater controls the silver overlays around the knobs? How do they go on?
