I've finished tweaking the ride height, pre-load and damping. Also had the front geometry set up to my liking.
The new set-up is great. Firm but comfortable. Loving the BC Racing coilovers...

It's also good that i don't need to jack it a mile off the ground to change wheels, lol.








Next on my list is to get the front and rear arches rolled/pulled to allow me to refit my 7"x15" ET30 RB's.
Can't wait to get them back on.

Yeah, I unfortunately had to sell my Mugen lip to help pay for the coilovers.
I'm glad it found a good home though, it would have got broken in no time at the new ride height.

Just in case you were wondering, my car blew 100dB @ 3/4 revs (4500rpm).

 

I tried the power steering fuse delete on my morning commute today. The feedback was amazing, but it just required way too much heft to turn the wheel, far more than my old 1984 manual steering Jetta did. The light steering effort is one of my few big gripes about my Fit, compared with the VWs and MINI that I cross-shopped against.

The caster angle is well suited to a city car but prevents self centering of the front wheels and skitterishness at freeway speeds.. Try putting less air in the tires, gradually increasing it as you become used to the way it drives.. The weird seating position that has you reaching out with arms overly extended is not helping any either... I put long wool sheepskin seat covers on the front seats to improve the seating position, it did help some and is more comfortable.. Driving at high speed it is actually easier to drive in a straight line..

I try so hard to keep my Fit safe by parking on end spots but at work it is kind of hard. So I looked out the window today when one of my friends said I needed to go look at my car because I was probably going to be upset by what was going on around it...



They were putting in a new pole at a building site. Yup! Guess it was good that they actually put up cones but still just a little unnerving when the huge pole was raised up right over from where my car was sitting. Whew! Never fails!

 

This is awesome! Should put you in a great mood!

Thanks! I've actually seen that track video of your before. And it doesn't seem that loud inside the cabin, but for 100db @ 4500rpm that will be more than enough for me to get a ticket. Yikes! I guess I have to find a quieter exhaust. But the Invidia is still in my list just in case I decide to be like "Eff this, I don't care!".

And another thing I like about it is the angled look, plus it would be tucked under my bumper since I have the longer bumper compared to the UK/JDM ones.

 

I've got a chap from Arch Enemy coming out to me on Saturday to roll & pull my arches.
Should have my alloys back on by the weekend. ^_^

Not that I'm one to talk with my Fit build

 

I ordered parts to do the Clutch Delay Valve delete about two weeks ago from performanceparts4less.com

They sent me the fitting adapters, but not the hose. I had to call them up and ask where it was. They said they ordered it from the manufacturer to be shipped to me directly. They said it was free shipping, but charged a $14 "handling" fee.

The manufacturer forgot to put my apartment number on the address so UPS held it hostage for a week, no sticker on the complex door or anything, so after tracking that down and straightening them out I have all my parts, and after a complaint I got my "handling" fee refunded.

Now all I gotta do is get some clutch / brake fluid and swap this mess out. Does anyone know how much fluid I'll need? I can't seem to track the info down. I don't want to get halfway through only to realize I'm short with no ride to the store, heh.

 

My 07 Sport's PO cracked the front lip and smashed the front grille (in front of the AC condenser), so I pulled the lip (I'm too cheap to replace), and replaced the grille with an ebay billet grille. I must say, the grille looks pretty awesome.

I wanted to do a full writeup, but I was up against a religious festival I had to finish before, and then a hailstorm broke out in the middle of the job (seriously). So, only after pics for your enjoyment.

The grille went on easy enough, but the instrux were ambiguous. Best I could figure, it had four Z-shaped hooks which screwed into the back of the grille, and which were supposed to hook onto... something. They seemed to match up with the slots in the bumper cover where the factory grille locked in, so I hooked them in there. Which wasn't the greatest, since the bump that cracked the factory grille also damaged the slots. The bumper cover is slightly distorted where the hooks pull on it, but it's not noticeable from outside the car. EDIT: oops, I guess it is a bit visible. C'est la vie.

The tricky part was mounting the fog lights. They screw into the edges of the factory grille, so I used tin snips to cannibalize it, and reinstalled the sides in the outermost tabs. The lights were then ready to install. (Sorry for no pics here.)

Now I just have to figure out how to mount the license plate, since the factory bracket bolts through the front grille, but it no longer fits.
