Question GD3 Rear Headrests.. any suitable replacements?

I've searched for a suitable replacement for my GD3 rear headrests on the forums and have found nothing.

Has anyone manufactured, replaced, or tried to replace the rear headrest for our GD3's to match something like the GE8's have?

I'm basically looking for something that I can fold flat the rear seats without taking off the headrests or using the front lever of the front seat to adjust it forward.

um... try using a GE8 head rest?

I don't know if it'll fit. know of anyone with a ge8? if you do, ask them if you can do a test fit. if it fits, buy a pair ($74 each before S&H).

Yes I have tried the GE8's, they do not fit.

I'm looking toward other car makers like Hyundai, Toyota, etc, to see if I can find a suitable replacement.

I just wanted to see if anyone is looking like I am...

Sol, I have seen you here for quite some time and I have known about you getting banned multiple times. Don't go preaching the gospel to me about rude posts because we all know, you've taken the cake in many occasions.

Wow.

I wasn't trying to be insulting. I was being serious, in that you could cut the posts, and then weld it back with a bracket as needed.

My brother has a tig welder... for no reason (that I can figure out). Who knows what other people may have.

This forum has quite a number of DIYs... But I guess even a suggestion is too much, huh?

Well thank you for your post then. Reading your post immediately after what I had posted suggested that you were just being a jackass, but I digress.

As for the arc welder suggestion, that does not solve the blocked view with the tall headrest of the GD.

I am going to assume that you were suggesting that I get some GE headrests (because your last post was so informative), tear them apart (because we all know stick welding does give off great showers of molten metal), reweld the mounts, then some how put it all back together right?

Your suggestion is duly noted and I thank you for it.

Sooznd, thank you for your post but as stated in my original request, I am looking for the REAR headrests.

Those front EM headrests don't look too shabby either but they will not fit into my plans for the rear headrest.

Did you ever find anything? I am looking at buying a 2008 FIT that is missing rear headrests and would much rather have the 2009 version, but I realize these don't fit. So I am very curious about whether you found a solution. Thanks!

Have you looked at how hard it would be to relocate the recievers in the GD rear seat to accept an un-modified GE headrest? I believe that there isn't much holding those little spring loaded pockets in the seat. Other than having to cut and possibly reposition the seat foam around the new pockets that might be the easiest way to go.
