07 Fit Blower Fan

Hello,

Just bought an 07 Fit with 22,000K.
This morning it was -23 C and it started fine but the heater fan would not turn on. I then drove the car for a few blocks and the car started to warm up. At that point the fan started to run again. Is this normal?

I would venture to say that the number of Fit owners who have experienced -23C (about -10F) is limited. So the number of people who could say this is "normal" who are also Fitfreaks is commensurately small. I can say that my 08 has not exhibited this behavior at any of the temperatures I have experienced in Massachusetts.

Patience is a virtue, and this forum tends to reward those who have it. Those who demand instant gratification tend to inspire less helpful responses.

No, not normal. Would it not run on any speed? Perhaps there was (frozen) moisture in the motor or bearing which thawed as heat from the heater core warmed it. Maybe your HVAC condensate drain is plugged.

NO it's not normal. It maybe something as little as a drop or 2 of oil on the motor bearings?
Hope it works it's self out! Summers coming! Yeah

Thanks to all for your responses.
I am sure it is related to the cold temp.

NOT Normal.
I start the car at -30C and the fan will blow at max. Although it's counter productive as it's blowing -30C into my face.
