Question '05 Fit 1.3/ Automatic - Rolling Backward in Drive

The local Honda Dealer here in Cebu City has never seen this & has no clue as to the problem ... (the Honda tech experienced the glitch during the test-drive)
It is an intermittent occurrence at operating temperature . There is no throttle response from a standing-start momentarily & the vehicle will roll backward while in drive on an incline ... the engine rpm's never drop below idle during this occurrence . This creates a very dangerous situation if on an extreme incline in heavy traffic . Any help identifying the problem would be appreciated - tyvm

There is no specific circumstance that causes the problem, it is random & not predictable once the engine reaches operating temperature .

When the engine gets up to temp it will idle at it's lowest RPM without stalling or running rough. That said, an automatic transmission turns the wheels using fins and throwing fluid. Any car with low torque will roll back on an incline if it's automatic. I even had a Camaro with a 305 V8 and auto tranny. When I lowered the idle because it was running too fast it started rolling back on some hills. It doesn't sound like there is a problem at all with the car. You also mentioned something about a delay in throttle response. Depending on the length of delay, that could be caused by the "drive by wire" system if you are used to a cable throttle.
