Back seat is stuck closed??
Back seat is stuck closed??
So I had all my seats down for a while because I had my bike and golf clubs in the back. I went to clean my car and I pulled them up to vacuum and clean the floor and when I did that I tried to pull them down to make them a regular seat again and the one behind my driver side is stuck together and I cant open it back up to make it a seat again. I am not sure what to do, if I bring it to a mechanic I am sure it will be a lot to fix , anyone have this problem before or any suggestions?
There's a bar attached under the seat that flips up. When that bar is in the up position the seat will not go down.
Easy fix. Flip out the bar and your seat will be fixed.
If this is the problem then nothing is broken with your Fit.
When you lift the bottom part of the seat it will only stay up when you flip the bar against it. When the bar is flipped up it will prevent the seat from coming back down on your groceries or pets.
Push on the bottom part of the seat against the other half and flip out the bar and voila!
Let me know how you made out.

Ya thats how I would normally take it down , and have done that. It's still stuck no matter which that bar is. I am not sure what to do or if anyone has had this problem. I am going to have to try and take the seat apart or get a new one I guess
I had this problem when I had left a small backpack on the floor behind the passenger seat and I folded the seat down. The seat just would not go back up.
I think I was able to pull the backpack out somehow and I was finally able to get the seat back up.
Do you have anything that might be blocking the rear seat?

unfortunetly my car has been deailed and it's spotless an their was nothing blocking it. I have messed with the bar and pulled it up and down countless times but it will not come apart. I think I must have gotten it stuck somehow. My other seat works how it is supposed to and stays up when its supposed to but once the bar is brought down the seat falls down. But the one directly right behind the drivers seat is stuck which has turned my Fit into a three seater

Free bump.
Heh heh heh ... that stinks. Really feel for you. My previous car, the rear seats folded etc just fine, BUT one of them would not slide fore/aft which it should have.
I never did get it to do so. Shows you how important a sliding rear seat is (ie not very).
But my advice, even though I didn't fix it, is that you should follow the pull bar all the way back down the chain to the effective latch. At some point between the thing you pull and the latch that needs to unlatch, something will have come disconnected or be blocked - guaranteed. And then you'll know what needs to be fixed.
Luckily this is also a problem tailor made for the dealer. Annoying for the fixer to do, yet they can clearly see that there IS a problem and they know when they've solved it. If you end up going that route.
Good luck!!!!
