Hesitation/hiccup when accelerating

'07 sport manual with 116,000 miles.

Accelerating between 2nd and 5th gears, when throttle pressed, car hesitates or hiccups. I've changed air filter and done 2 fuel system cleaning services. It gets a little better, but problem still exists.

What in the world could it be, thanks?

No offense, but sounds like you have a beginner's knowledge about cars (based on changing the air filter and cleaning the fuel system).

The cause of your problem could be very complex and I would suggest taking it to a mechanic.

The car needs to be connected to an OBDII scanner to read for possible trouble codes.
Multiple sensors will need to be ruled out (MAF, TPS, Engine - CTS, O2, CPS) as well as as fuel system checked for correct pressure. Engine compression test may need to be done. EGR system checked, etc.
You can start learning, can start throwing unrelated parts at it, or just take it for professional diagnostic and then shop for the best price on repair.
Good luck.

i can say i bet its a coil pack or more mine went bad at 72 thousand and had intermittent stalling hesitation with no codes drove me crazy until i got the oem Hitachi coils my guess you could alway get four from advance auto parts they have 90 day warranty if it acts up after just refund and get your money back there are tons of people on here that have had this problem and coil pack seemed to be the issue

I tend to agree with him and the other member. Take to Honda or where ever b4 wasting funds buying everything under the sun and still have this issue.
