Hello,

My 2008 m/t Fit has been dying every time I approach a stop-won't idle either ( when warmed up). I get a P0497 Evaporative Emission System Low Purge Flow code. Smells a little funny, too. Not like gasoline... Car will restart only if throttle is depressed a little, will run down the road fine. Probably due for valve adjustment. This car has 279k miles. Entire drive train was replaced at 240k. Engine has about 50k miles now. Coils and plugs have about 40k.

Any suggestions will be much appreciated. Thanks!

 

It is a guess but I will look on the hoses between charcoal canister and purge valve on the throttle body; also on the valve itself
