Door keeps locking

Hi,

I'm having some trouble. I have an 07 Fit and my doors keep locking. Like I have ghost in the car pressing the lock button continously. While I am driving, when the car is parked, the doors are continuing to lock. I keep my driver door and window down just in case I lock the keys in the car. Has anyone ever had this issue before? Is it the actuator? Is it a faulty electrical problem?

Thanks,

PJ

Sounds like a faulty actuator. Was there not a recall of these or am I making it up?

You should not be able to lock the doors if you leave the key in the ignition. If saves dumb asses like me from locking keys inside.

Actually, I locked my keys in the car twice because of this issue. I will check on the recall. Thank you.

There was a recall on the driver side window switch, to check what recalls have and have not been done:

yes, you can. for the same reason you can insert the key in the ignition andlock the doors.
I suspect that thar gov'ment is making you safe by locking the doors when the speed gets above something like 20 mph and that is malfunctioning to lock and unlock the doors at random speeds.

Except the 2007 Fit doesn't have that feature. Or at least my USDM base model thankfully doesn't.

you sure? I checked a 2007 VW in the shop ready for test drive. sure enough doors locked once over 25 mph. I suspect its a government requirement on all cars but I haven't verified that; I just don't think VW would have it if not required.

My 2007 was built in March-April 2006 and I bought it when the dealership finally got more Fits in and could sell me the display model in May 2006. It may be a requirement like TPMS that wasn't mandadory until the actual year 2007 instead of just the model year 2007. I've had my Fit for almost 9 years and the doors have never once locked after I hit a certain speed.
