This.

I have no idea how you go from pistons making contact with something to a dead strut. I can't imagine those sounds are anything similar.

Better to do it once correctly than have to do it twice! Glad it wasn't something worse.

Rear lower bolts on the strut are seized. Still haven't gotten them off. Torching them and gonna rip them off. Rears are easier to do but not with these seized bolts.

Your damn right it "de-escalated quickly". Thank God.

When you are doing 120km/h on the highway hearing a real loud noise it could be several things. You need to inspect and diagnose before you can figure it out. On the highway it could have been several things. A piston was plausible. You were not in the vehicle and you were not traveling at 120km/h hearing and feeling what I was.

At the end the end of the day at least I come back here help people, post my issues, and the fixes.

Off to tackle the rear bolts now.

I would suggest looking into sway bar end link joints from moog. Just had both sides switched out they were worn and causing a clunking noise that I though for sure was engine bay orientated. I am currently at 107,600 km . Original plugs n packs.
