eBay Catalytic Converter

2007 manual mt 180k miles.

I purchased said cat from eBay (Canada). Received it very fast. I should have read the reviews first but I didn’t. I had the notorious P0420 code. The welds and mounts were questionable at best. I attempted to install it and it did not line up at all. It was off at least 45 degrees. So after I took to a professional muffler shop (thinking it was salvageable) they mounted it (without heat shield because the cat itself was too big). Felt better definitely. In my opinion the cat was great after the mods but the code was still popping up due to the amount of air inside. After a total of 600$ part included with mods to attempt to work it did not clear the code.

I later replaced the o2 sensors with denso sensors and got a magnaflow cat from the local auto parts store (before I found out about rock auto). Light is still off to this day and it sounds great. Save your money and don’t get the eBay cat. The return will cost you more then the part and they will not refund you or email you. Get magnaflow and do your sensors at the same time.
