my FIT has 109,000miles, what should I do?!?!

my FIT has 109,000miles, what should I do?!?!

I just rolled over 109,000 miles on my fit. I have never done anything major to the car.

It has had the following done when needed:
  • Spark Plugs
  • oil changes
  • brakes
  • tires

That's it.

Is there anything I need to replace or be aware of with this high mileage on the car? Do I need to change a timing belt? chain? or should I just keep driving it? I don't know too much about this and would appreciate some help. Also, what about wheel bearings?

No thats not it. Timing belt needs changing. If you did, you messed up not changing h2o pump too. If you did not, the service is if you had never changed the timing belt plus the price of h2o pump. It shows all that should be done in your owners manual. There is no need to ask us.

If the 1st gen L15 which has been used since 2001 used timing, it was back when every Honda engine in the US (D17, B16, B18 GS-R/ITR, B18 LS, B20, F22, H22/23 & J30) used timing belt, im pretty positive yours does. Read your manual...

I can tell you this. Once belt breaks while driving, say goodbye to all your valves and also getting your head shaved.

No belt on the GD fit has a chain.

Plugs, Valve adjust, And coil packs if they have never been done. It will run like a sewing machine..

GD is the model or series of the Fit.

GD = 07 08 (in USA)
GE = 09 - 14
GK = 15 and newer

If you do your oil changes on time (when the Maintenance Minder tells you to) the chain will last almost forever. Engine codes will show up when the chain stretches (before any damage is done)

Regards additional maintenance:

Transmission Fluid needs to be replaced at certain intervals, whether Manual or Automatic.

Brake fluid needs to be replaced every 3 years regardless of mileage.

Replace wheel bearings at failure, they will usually get noisy.

There should be no need to change the timing chain. And 109,000 is considered low mileage. Just drive and enjoy it. You're doing it right.

When you do the chain you normally rebuild the whole engine..
It usually lasts the useful life of the motor.

Just be thorough. Plugs, filters, fluids etc.

Spend sometime to look into hardened hoses, bushings, cables etc too.
