ABS seems to enable when slowing to a stop

It's common to have the last car length or two of asphalt before a stop sign/light be warped around here. When I slow to a stop on these warped areas, I'm hearing and feeling what sounds like the ABS starting to enable. Anyone have this issue? Is this a stability control thing or an ABS thing? I just want to make sure this isn't a sign of something wrong. I'm hoping to smooth the ride out with larger wheels and tires this year.

From my experience, the front/rear tire thread dept difference causes ABS to activate when braking on the speed bump (not before but right on it)

You might want to feel the centers of your wheels after a drive.

You could have a caliper binding which would make the wheels hot. Left and right of each axle should be similar temps. It's normal for the fronts to feel warmer than the rears.

Thanks, gentlemen. There's a good difference between the front and rear tread. I'll keep an eye on the wheel temps, too.
