2007 GD3 with AT


One day it wouldn't go into P (park)/light up P..like it was hitting a wall and stop before going a few more into P.


Sometimes I could get it to go into P by just putting it into D or R and going a few feet fixes it to go into P, so I could get my key out...but this time it didn't.

after I got off from work, I drove it around the block and then it would go into P

Now the problem is worse, the other day it would not go into P
and the P on the dash wouldn't even light up.

and when in P...
the car wouldn't start, had to go to N to start it.
and had to use the key release next to the shifter to get it out of non light up P, to go to N



before all this started,

I would put the key in the ignition, and try to start it, and nothing, had to move the shifter out of P and back into P for the ignition to work and start the car.

Did something drop behind the shifter? Take the shifter cover and center console out to have a good look at the mechanism.

 

Shift lever parking lock??
