Intake manifolds interchangeable?

Good lord please dont bring down the wrath for DSM on me for asking this.......trying to "pioneer" here.

I would like to know if anyone has hd experience with swapping IMs. I know the GE IM fits the Z and probably vice versa.....but what about the GD?

Weapon R made a IM at one point, and wondered if anyone has any experice with this?

Read up on the issues owners are having with the Weapon R IM on the platform it was intended for.

Then look at the cost.

Then consider that you would be better off fabbing your own or having one made for you out for of sheet aluminum and some short soft radius stacks.

Good point, but not really the answer I was looking for. Thats my fault I suppose. I will phrase my question more accurately. Are the flanges on the IM's the same? Do they all share the same sensors/provisions for placement....that sort of thing. For example....will the phenolic spacer for the GD fit a GE? They look similar?

Thanks!

They are different part #'s
17105-RB0-004 - GE
17146-PWA-004 - GD

You could buy them and have them side by side for ~$30 shipped and use them as templates to make your own lol

Seen them both, just not next to one another.

Aiming towards "no" though

I work for a dealer, so Ill check the prices out. They frown on ordering stuff just to send back lol. Im mainly concerned with the phenolic gasket and the upper plenum. Im in works to get a Z IM for my all motor build. I like to be different.......hopefully I can get 120 whp all motor with no internal work. GRANTED.....there are easier ways to get to that....F/I and nitrous.....but sometimes the road less taken........

120whp, even on a generous Dyno-Dynamics or hub dyno is going to be a tall order on the stock cam/compression.

Best of luck.

Thanks!

Whats your opinion on intake piping sizing? Also toying with the idea of making an actual plenum spacer......1/2 inch thick.

Clever guy.

It was a general question, I did not realize that would be intruding on his business. Sorry for the offense.
