Isn't this thing supposed to just come out after you remove the ring? The ring is really easy to remove with a regular gas tank tool. it allows you to just put a ratchet on it.

ok so here are the pics! help! i want to get this thing off while i still have light outside. PLEASE HELP ANYBODY

got it off!!! had to pray it out little bit little and go in a cycle using a pry screw driver!

ok now another issue... how do i put this damn thing back in? that fuel pump was prety easy to install! just can't get the assembly back in because the rubber around the assembly keeps binding up when i shove it down and the spring loader keeps fighting me back.. and iam way too tired to keep fighting

Yeah, its a pain...

So the rubber has a groove around the out side, where part of it sits inside the tank and rest is above/outside the tank.

Take the rubber and put it on the bottom of the bucket (at least the bucket part that the rubber is supposed to go around), so that the bottom half is hanging off the bucket. The idea is to let that part squeeze into the tank, while the top part is already around the bucket.

I learned the hard way, when I put the rubber on the tank without the bucket, I couldn't keep the rubber in position to get the bucket in.

DONE! Goobers! AlpineBMW and Johnnys!!! Its been such a long road brothers!

Ok so my issue was I was a dumbass (like always) and i tried to install it back to the tank with the gasket secure on the assembly. So the issue is that it keeps binding up when you push it in and it will NEVER GO IN

But all you have to do is just loosen and make sure the gasket isn't secure on the assembly, and when you re-install it back on the tank, you just secure the gasket around the tank the way you want it, and then the assembly just slides right in... SLIDES RIGHT IN THERE.. yeah.. you guys GET IT.

Time to send this 6th tune off to my tuner!

and if anyone is wondering this is the EXACT pry tool i used to remove the assembly from the tank: http://a.co/4Q0V6eO
