I agree with Selden. Best stock sound in a car I have owned, too. If you are an audio buff, add new speakers and stereo unit. It sounds good to my old ears, too--especially when I am playing my own music on flash drive or ipod.
Fit is not a BMW.

+3, -2 fixes everything. I'm a borderline audiophile, and I think it sounds really decent for what it is at those settings. Every other settings combo sounds like crap comparatively. When I got the car, it was one of the first things I complained about, but after those adjustments - perfecto. I'm work in front of studio monitors all day, so my ear is tuned for a flat response, which may have something to do with it.

update,
I am not sure if my ears got used to it or the speaker broke-in, the sound is better than before but still a bit hissy.
