OEM radio upgrade to OEM Navi

Hey guys

What do you think about upgrading the stock 6 disc to an oem navi? I dont want to spend a lot of money and I know that there are a few used units for sale but I didnt know if there were additional parts that I would need to pick up as well.

If your car is GE8, you can find OEM NAV unit on eBay for around $600. Make sure that it comes with security code, antenna. Then you have to buy a new plate/bracket for NAV. However, you will not get voice active NAV and redundant control on the steering wheel. One thing for sure that you will not get it is VSA.

For $600 you should be able to find a better aftermarket navi.

Although I'm not happy with how the aftermarket dash kits look I'm not a fan of nearly every OEM nav unit. Depending on what you want an aftermarket may fit your needs better. I would make sure that you get what you want if you are willing to spend the money! I've got an Alpine unit in the Accord and a Kenwood unit in the Fit. I prefer the nav of the Kenwood (which uses a garmin brain for the nav) but take a look around before you make the choice.

I have a Pioneer F700BT in my 99 Civic, and it's been great for the price. I have plans to get a newer Pioneer unit for the Fit.

I really have no clue what I am really looking for in an in dash nav system. Important things I guess are blue tooth with a garmin base
