Need Help Planning HU and coax speakers for 2012 Sport

I'm planning to install a fairly simple sound system upgrade to my 2012 Fit Sport non nav, as plug and play as possible.

A CD receiver, JVC KW-R900BT $250 from Crutchfield, aquire the dark grey trim panel for a Pilot, and the Axxis steering wheel control kit.

No amp will be installed - so the HU will power all speakers.

Coax 2 way speakers in F/R doors to ease the install with no crossovers, leaving the stock dash tweeters in place and still hooked up (advice on the tweeters/wiring?).

Need help with which 6.5" speakers would work best for F/R without an amp:
Kicker DS60 $70 pair
Kicker KS60 $100 pair
Polk db651s $100 pair
Polk DXi650s $100 pair

"Maybe" a small powered subwoofer *if* it will fit under the seats or under the dash. Only if it will mount out of sight and out of the way.

Small powered subwoofer choices I know of:
Retro Sound sub 8100 2 3/4"* 9" * 13 3/4" $199
or Sound Ordinance B-8pt 3 1/4"* 9 1/8" * 13 7/8" $199
or Kenwood KSC SW10 3 9/16"* 8 7/8" * 14 1/2" $250
or Kicker 11HS8 3 1/4"* 9 3/8" * 14 1/4" $300

I don't think I can fit any of these under driver/passenger seat and still slide seats though. Not sure about under dash either.

This coming winter season I will be sound deadening the doors and the entire rear hatch area. I'm a full time RV traveler, and will host a wildlife preserve for 4 months in AZ where I will have more space to work, and a easy place to deliver deadening supplies.

I took the first steps on this project.

As most of you know, the 2012 Audio Head Unit surround on the 2012 is gun metal grey versus the earlier silver colored surround. All the after market kits (like from Crutchfield) are silver. I wanted a matching dash with the gunmetal.

In the USA, choices to get gunmetal color are with spray paint, or order Honda OEM Navigation double din parts that are Gunmetal. (Thanks to the folks who led the way on this and provided the information on their threads).

77251-TK6-A01ZB Double din nav panel in gunmetal color
77255-TF0-000 Metal brackets for install of head unit and atch to panel
93913-14420 Correct size screws to avoid trip to hardware store

I emailed a bunch of the Honda parts discounts folks on line, and two had these parts in stock and discounted: Bernardi Honda in MA, and Honda Parts Direct in NY. I ordered from Bernardi this morning. They had the shipment ready within 45 minutes of my placing the order.

Next will be to order the head unit and Axxis steering wheel control harness/module (probably from Crutchfiled, but will research).

I may wait for speakers and sound deadening for a later date. But, on the speakers I have decided on the Polk coaxial 2 ways. According to an email with Polk, the DXi is a newer, updated speaker over the db.

"The DXi line is a step above the DB line. The DXi's have a more clean and crisp sound as well as some cosmetic differences. I do believe the power handling is very similar though. The difference between the regular model and the one with the "s" is the tweeter location. On the "s" model the tweeters are more flush on the front side in case you have a vehicle that has a front depth issue and cannot have a tweeter protruding from the speaker that much. The "s" models do have a little lower power handling than the regular models too.

Question for the guys who have been there done that. Since I have the OEM panel, brackets and screws coming, if I order from Crutchfield those items are included in the silver color if I order from the 2012 Fit page.

For the immediate thin surround around the head unit, will the head unit and/or Crutchfield kit give me what I need, or should I order the Pilot head unit kit to get the thin immediate surround? Are any of these gunmetal color?

Thanks for any advice.

Don't know what you mean by imediate surround, but crutchfiled included the metra kit, all wireing and adaptors needed to do a full install. I don't know how the stock tweeters are wired in (bought a base model :P) but odds are, if you just use the adaptor wires crutchfield will include with the speakers, they will still work. Get ready for a big sound change with the new head unit though, the stock Fit one seems to have a bult in, non-defeatable EQ.

i think he means the little trim that goes between the doubledin and bezel to cover the gap.

some doubledins include that little rectangular trim in the package. you just cut it to make it fit in the bezel.

i know metra and others also sell that trim ring on amazon.
