It's rated 7-10 years. Plus, you can just remove it and apply new. I'm sure you'll wanna switch stuff up before then. Or paint it if you want. But I've got money my vinyl lasts longer than paint

No DIY, but it's really straightforward. Buy 2 upholstery needles (they're curved) and put red thread in them to stitch back up the same way your black thread came off. Trust me, once you pull the black, it will be very evident where the stitches go. the OEM is super tight and make grooves in the leather. Just take your time. It could all be done in a day if you really work at it.
