Wiper Cowl Replacement - DO THEY EXIST?

Hey all,

First post here. Wish I had started utilizing this website sooner, because it sure has saved me some money in the short month I've been browsing.

Anyways, last year in January, I wrecked the car (not my fault, I swear!), and suffered some minor damage to the cosmetics on the passenger side front, and the 25-30mph impact from the other vehicle shifted the entire engine slightly to the right. (if you're standing infront of the car looking at the engine)

Insurance covered the repairs, and about 6 months after we got the car back, I noticed that the wiper cowl was not completely seated and was loose. I took the wipers off to further inspect, and of course there were a few broken clips and missing strips of adhesive.

Today, my wife was driving and the passenger side cowl vent came flying off.

Now, I've been looking for replacement clips for 6 MONTHS and simply cant find them. I've looked everywhere...and on top of that, now I need a passenger vent, and also seem to be nonexsistant.

Does ANYONE know where I could find either clips/cowl vent that isn't used to hell and ridiculously priced?

Thanks in advance!

There are 3 types of clips required for removing the cowl which are identified in the recent spark plug replacement threads. They are not so expensive.

Removing the cowl will break a lot of clips so assume you will need to replace a large percentage of them.

You can find parts at a local junkyard at reasonable prices.

I've looked at literally every auto store and junkyard within a 25 mile radius of me, and nothing.

Online, nothing. The only ones I could find were the two black push down retainer clips that are on either side of the cowl.

To be more specific, it's the blue ones on the top of the cowl that I cant find anywhere.

Is it possible to talk to the body shop that did the repairs and inform them of the remaining problem? Perhaps you can work with your insurance to get them to finish the job properly.

The nine blue-colored clips under the cowl are Honda 90602-TA0-003 - Clip, Cowl Top. The Hood Hinge cover on the passenger side (in North America) is Honda 74222-TK6-A00 COVER, PASSENGER HOOD HINGE. It comes with its clip. (Note - you may want to double-check my P/Ns on these).

After losing my Hood Hinge Cover twice on my '13, I added a few thin strips of 3M tape behind it and it's stayed firmly in place ever since.

I would of contacted my Insurance Company immediately and the Body Shop that did the repair work. It was sub-standard, and they should of been responsible for repair.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I guess you had to have the part number to find them. As soon as I plugged that in, got a pack of 20 off of amazon, and a new front passenger cowl cover.

thanks again, good sir.

Sure thing. I removed my cowl some time ago to check the torque of my spark plugs (which were fine) and broke most of the cowl clips in the process. Wanting to reassemble the car, I had no alternative but the Honda Dealer parts desk and after taking out a home equity loan to cover the cost, I had my clips in hand.

Dealership is your best bet for those specific clips. Sucks because they're not cheap at all

I think the cowl assembly is 74219-TK6-A00. That is a lot of parts and close to $200 on line.

https://www.hondapartsnow.com/genuin...9-tk6-a00.html

You can find junkyards in Texas selling that # for $45 plus shipping at car-part.com

You should call the junkyard beforehand to define precisely what you need, as they might sell you those parts individually at a lower price. Be very nice to the crew.

UPDATE: Solved

Hello,

Thanks for everyone's input. It wasnt't until I was given the part number(dont remember who it was) that I found them.

If anyone else finds themselves in this situation,
here yah go.

Rexka Cowl Vent Retainers for Honda Acura 90602-TA0-003 (Pack of 40) Rexka Cowl Vent Retainers for Honda Acura 90602-TA0-003 (Pack of 40)

They're listed as for Acura but also Fit the FIT 😜

Very good price and had them delivered in two days. It comes with 40, so dont have to worry about breaking the clips anymore

I'm going to put together a thread with all of the Honda Fit 2nd generation part numbers to make searching a lot easier for other people soon.

Hope that helps!
