Sloshing noise heard moving from back to front

Hey all,

So whether or not the car is running or not, I can hear sloshing. It sounds like a lot of fluid moving from back to front, and then from front to back

If I stand outside the vehicle and move the body of the car back and forth, i can quickly put my head in the car and hear the sloshing.

I figured it was my AC drain line being clogged up, but my AC is still draining.

What on earth could this be? Fuel? I only hear it on the passenger side of the vehicle. The harder I rock the car, the louder the sloshing.

Thanks in advance!

It's the fuel in the tank.

Is that normal? I don't remember being able to hear it before.

I could always here it in my Fit. The car is not sound insulated very well. Fill the tank up and then try to listen for it. I don't remember ever hearing it when it was filled up.

It's because the gas tank in this car is under the front seats. It's worse when it's full or nearly so. I agree it's a little concerning until you know what it is. 😊

That cant be right. Ive had this car for 6 years. For the first 5 and a half I never heard this before. The sloshing sounds the same, how much gas i have in the engine makes no difference when listening.

Plus the sound can only be heard near the passenger door/passenger dash.

There is no other large amount of fluid in the car except for fuel.

Unless you got some water that leaked into the door and its not draining or something.

Thats my point. Even when the tank is nearly empty, same sound as when its full. 🤷*♂️

Where is this door drain?

Not sure. I am guessing under the door somewhere. By the door seal?

If you open and close the door can you hear it slosh?

Mine does exactly the same....fuel tank.
To hear it better...slip the tranny into neutral and turn the ignition off, before coming to a complete stop.
You will hear it clearer.

Ive got the same issue, and it kills me. Its fuel, so dont worry, but no, I wouldnt have gotten the car if I heard this noise. At some point when I stop feeling thrashed I'll drop the fuel tank and see if something broke inside. Sure, theres no metallic sound, but without question somethin went wonky. You're not crazy.
