Dash lights not turning off when key is out.

Even when the key is taken out of ignition- these lights are on. After the car is started then it starts up; radio and all lights work except the speedometer. It remains as is with couple of more light turn on in the dash such as ABS, brakes and steering light. What could be the cause? Please help. It is 2009 Honda Fit vase model and my son is driving this car to school

Has any electrical work been carried out recently? Sounds like you literally have some wires crossed, possibly a fried relay?

Thanks. No changes done recently. Battery was replaced last year. My son used auxiliary to connect the iPhone. I worry about that wire could have caused a surge but those are so low amperage- not sure if that can cause such a damage.
I took out the fuse # 1, 14 but nothing worked so far. What is the fuse for radio - could that be issue?

UPDATE: this worked!!

I removed battery terminals for 35 minutes and put it back after Fiting suggested it. Started the car and it’s back to life. Had to put a code for radio to start the radio. Drove around and it all good now. My son will thank you as well.

Try a reboot. Disconnect the battery for half hour. Someone else has some weird similar problem and that worked.
