Horn Does Not Work

I have a 2012 Fit Sport that I bought new and has 50k miles. Been very happy. A few weeks ago, I discovered that the main Horn does not work (note that the security horn works). I checked the fuse, the relay and the horns. They are all okay. I brought the car to a trusted mechanic. He said I should bring it to the dealer. He said the main horns blare when he presses the panic button. He thinks the wire from the horn pad to the relay may be disconnected somewhere but he doesn't want to touch that area. I had the service recall done on the driver's side airbag.in April 2017. Based on info from another thread, I am now afraid that the dealer messed something up in the steering wheel area when they did the recall (although that was 4 years ago). But, I hear and feel the relay click when I press the horn pad. Any thoughts?

It may be something as simple as the dealer forgetting to reconnect the horn wire when they replaced the airbag. It's easy to check - two bolts, one on either side of the steering wheel, hold the airbag in. Just make sure you disconnect the connector from the lower rear of the steering wheel (under a little plastic panel) first. The horn is a spade connector with a long black body and green/yellow wires that clips into the airbag. To test it, just ground it against the big bolt in the center. If the wiring is good, the horn will sound.

Thank you for your response.

Surprisingly, I just picked up the car from my mechanic two hours ago; and the horn is now working! He had left me a message earlier today saying he couldn't fix the horn. I'm wondering if his pressing of the panic button somehow reset something that fixed the connections. Or, the humidity from the rains today may have done something. I'll check again tomorrow and give an update.

A loose connector could be affected by moisture, theoretically. Or perhaps the relay was just sticking a little, and the panic horn freed it up.
