Didn't make sense what was going on. Did the carb cleaner spray test and no obvious vacuum leaks (plus the Honda tech originally said he didn't see any either). It was either get a smoke machine or pay the $50 from Rockauto for a new Hitachi sensor.

They screwed around some more and it ended up being the PCM which had to be replaced. Very lucky for me was still 3 months left on my power train coverage. They ended up not charging for the fuel injectors but I did pay like a $200 (mis)diagnosis charge.

generally on these cars when an injector goes it shorts out the power mosfet driver for that injector and the ecu would need to be replaced along with the injector. I have ran into this multiple times, I can now repair the ecu’s by replacing the power mosfets inside the ecu. If the ecu is not repaired when the injectors are replaced the injector WILL fail again. The ecm can easily be tested for this failure I’ve posted about it multiple times.

here is a link to the video of how and where the mosfets are replaced. Any general electrical repair guy can do it.

Luckily (knocks on wood) things seem to be fine now.
