Genuine Spark Plugs

I have done a lot of searches here and other places to find where I can get genuine NGK plugs. NGK wont answer phone calls or emails so no help from them. Their list of authorized dealers only has one option in my rural area and it seems that 19 per plug is a bit steep.
I did talk to a guy from overstockdirect who claims to sell only genuine plugs and he got a bit upset when I questioned if what he was selling was real or not. His plugs say made in hte USA with parts from Japan or something like that. He says they were made In the USA plant. His price for 4 plugs is $35.00 which I suppose is in line with the Rockauto site. Rockauto is not on the dealer list either.
Its such a pain to replace these plugs I want the real thing the first time. Has anyone found an online source that sells real plugs?

There are so many fake parts out there that you are smart to be cautious. I rely on RockAuto pretty heavily because they are a large enough company that they can't afford to play games with fake parts. I've ordered a LOT from them and haven't had anything noticeably fake yet.

If you don't feel safe with them, you could order them from AutoZone, O-reilly's, Napa, or any other national parts chain. They may cost more, but you'll get real NGK's. Don't order from Amazon or eBay. Almost guaranteed to be fake. I also would not order from overstockdirect for the same reason.

Your other good option is to order the OEM plugs from hondapartsnow.com. I order a LOT from them also and have been very happy. The actual business is a Honda dealership in Florida.

Honda built the 1.5L with NGK and Denso plugs. I bought Denso plugs and Hitachi coils (those are OEM as well), been running strong for 3 years with no problems. Got mine from Rockauto.

I talked to a guy at sparkplugs.com amd he says his plugs come straight from manufacturer. Of course talk is cheap. May just bite the bullet and get them from one of the NGK authorized stores on their list. Its sad that everything you buy is possibly fake.I know many who have got them from RA but I checked again and they are not on the NGK list.

Sparl plugs

I ordered 4 from ebay and installed them. They were fake! Faliled after a few thousand miles. White part truned brown and misfired. I got my new ones from Advance Discount Auto and they seem genuine. Don't get them from Ebay that's for sure. It will be a big PITA when the plugs are so bad they misfire and you have to change them again. Best of luck Clay

I recently read another forum and 2 people got plugs from RA and they failed quickly. It was determined they were fake and RA returned their money and gave them a 20 coupon and said the plugs slipped through their system. Damage is done by then. Guy had to go back and change plugs again and he was lucky no engine damage.

Thanks all for the advice as it has been very interesting. I will go to my one source near me as it worth paying more to do this job only once.

I read one more alarming story and it said 60% of the NGK plugs being sold online are fake. All I can say is WOW!

Thanks again to all

Just visit your local Honda dealership's parts department. They stock them there.

I've been buying from RockAuto for many years and have never run into an issue. I get my OE NGKs from them. It is worth it to pay a little extra for FedEx as well as Mail and US Mail are terribly slow choices.
