Does anyone know what this switch does?
It's the only one ( so far ) that I have found & don't know it function.

My best guess is for a heating Element located at the base of the windscreen.

I wish that could sell it to you. Because I don't expect to ever need it

It's not too weird of an option, really. The Fiesta of similar year could be had with a windshield defroster. It's usually not an option that makes it to the states.

 

Every car in Canada should come with a windhield defroster, right where the wipers sit. Unfortunately, only a few have this option.

 

which is like stating that Honda doesn't believe it gets frozen in north america - like japan does

 

It's a significantly more expensive option. Same reason why we didn't get auto climate control, auto leveling headlights, 4wd, glass sunroof, the limited editions like the RS or the SHE S edition or the Fit Twist. Over there the Fit is an upmarket car, here it was marketed at the cheapest means of transport Honda would sell you.
