Engine suddenly just died
Engine suddenly just died
Hello everyone, hope all is well.
I have a 2012 base model fit and this morning when leaving my driveway the engine suddenly died, it started right up again with no issues and drove all day fine. Has anyone ever experienced this problem before, also could it be associated with my factory alarm, I ask this because lately my door locks have been doing the clicking when I arming my car and at times when I’m driving, it does this for about 30 seconds. Alter researching on this forum I was lead to believe that it might be drivers door lock actuator could possibly be the cause but unfortunately I haven’t had time to replace the actuator as of yet. Thank you so much for your precious time, God bless

That is correct the Honda Fit did not fall under the recall of faulty ignition switch.. However, the possibility of the solder points on the ignition switch could go bad depending on the age and conditions the car has experienced. Just something to consider.. The problem may not be the ignition switch at all, but with a similar situation with your factory alarm such as bad relays or electronic components that control the door locks and immobilizer.

There should be a FSM (Factory Service Manual) pdf. Available somewhere on this forum for download. Review Sections 22-122 through 22-170 . It is regarding the Keyless / Power Door Locks / Security System. The MICU controls all the door locks and immobilizer. Which kind of sounds like the issue you are describing.
