Anyone know how to remove dash panels?

Hi all,

I have the 09 Fit Sport and so far I really love it. It's classic Honda.

One of the reasons I gave up my 08 Accord Coupe was to get back into a car without rattles. The Accord was hopeless.

There's just one minor intermittent rattle that dilutes the fun in my Fit so far. I'm thinking if I can rid this rattle I'll be good to go. I think I traced it to behind the HVAC knobs or behind the radio. Sounds like a hollow plastic rattle. Could be a wire hitting plastic behind there.

Anyway, in my experience dealership techs are horrible in locating and fixing any noises. I thought if I can do it myself it'll save time, effort and headache.

Question: Has anyone removed dash panels in their 1st gen Fit? I just need to know if I can remove panels with regular type of tools and not require special ones that only the dealer would have. Anything I should know?

Thanks in advance.

Happy Fitting!

Honda?

Are you sure, on a vehicle that new, that it wouldn't be worth a shot to have the Honda people try and fix it?

Not in my experience with the local dealer. They usually not only don't fix the original problem, but add to it and do a horrible job in reassembling pieces.

sorry

Sorry man. I'm not that fond of Lee's Summit, Missouri but the techs at LS Honda are every bit as dependable as the cars they service. I just thought giving the Honda people a shot might be worth it.
