long term commitment

I plan on keeping my new Fit for at least 5 years, so do you think an extended warranty is the way to go?

Thanks!
Among Honda owners your going to find some disagreement about that. You might say I'm a bit of an extremist. I owned an 87 Acura Integra for 5 years that I bought for $850. I fixed it myself and was filled with respect as to how well engineered it was. Easy to fix at that. I wanted an 96-00 civic hatchback to replace it but so few were available that I eventually decided to go new. I can wrench pretty damn well but would rather not. I saved for two years and bought the fit by walking in with a certified check for $16,105. I was tired of being on my back and purchased a $0 deductible 8 year/120,000 mile warranty from Bernardi for $890. Only time will tell if that was a good deal but I love the fit and will drive it for a long time more than likely. An extended warranty may, in fact, be a ripoff but I like the insurance policy. That's what it is really, an insurance policy. By the way if you want your "insurance policy" to stay in force then Honda has a lot of hoops to jump through. That inch thick pile of manuals you get when you buy the car contains a lot of fine print most of which you ought to follow anyway. good luck on your purchase. Honda's are fine vehicles but sometimes the most well researched purchase can go bad. Maintain your Honda properly (by the book) and keep your receipts!

Yeah, and if you get the armrest console accessory, you lose those two cupholders. I don't have enough rear seat passengers to warrant having more than the two in the rear doors.

That is correct. Yet another reason to step up to the navi!

I guess they figured that most people would use an iPod, other MP3 player, flash drive, or MP3 CDs.

All sports should have steering wheel mounted radio controls. Even the Chevy Aveo has them. For another $1850 they come "free" with navi.

Don't mind reaching over to press a button. The radio won't be a concern when cornering

ok... the usb flash drive is genius!!!!

controls are close enough... but the creature comfort of steering wheel radio control would be icing.

update- 1st gas tank only got 244 miles. (filled before the light came on.) bleh... was expected.

but the fill up was SO cheap compared to my 4runner.
