Check in if you bought a fit 08 or 09 in the last 30 days.
30 days now after my purchase of the '09 Orange M/T. Now at 1000 miles my last fill up yielded 37 mpg with probably 80% highway driving at 65-70mph. "Great" you're thinking right? Well, my back is in considerable pain every time I drive more than 10 minutes now. I thought I'd get used to it since I've always had to adjust to new seats, but this is so bad I think I may have to take a hit and trade it in already. I figure I'll be out a couple thousand by either: 1) getting the seats repadded 2) buying new seats and losing airbag capability, or 3) buy another new car. Thanks Honda for putting a deep lumbar support at my shoulder blades.
I suggest you try some aftermarket pads just to see if they help, if they do, and you don't like the looks/convenience, get it done by a pro customized. The Fit is such a good car, trading it in because of a seat issue is a tragedy.

Just for a different opinion, here are my qualifications:
I have had four lumbar spinal surgeries, with three joints surgically fused at this point. My 'other' car, for comparison, is a BMW 335i, with the sport seats (power lumbar support, power seat with numerous adjustments, including up/down, seat tilt, backrest tilt, manual adjusting thigh support)
My conclusions: The Fit driver's seat is nearly as good as the Bimmer's, in terms of comfort and support. Okay, not quite as good, but the Bimmer goes for $50K.
If anyone knows a good place in the Maryland or DC area, let me know.
Posted this in the newbie thread but I don't think too many go there:
Hi all,
Just joined the forum after lurking for a few weeks and enjoying reading everyone else's posts (and learning a bunch of stuff too).
I'm the proud new owner of an 09 Fit LX (Blue Sensation), which I've had for 3 weeks now. So far, so good. Lots to like about it, and a few minor things not to like.
Things I like: very responsive, gocart-like handling, excellent brakes, good looks, very good fuel economy (I even like the fuel monitor even though it's about 10% optimistic), seating/cargo flexibility, nice dash layout, and most of all, fun to drive.

Bought a 2009 Sport Orange Revolution my wife calls "Navel". Drove it from Tucson to San Fransisco and had a ball!!! Amazing mileage and tons of room inside to stretch out. Loved using the paddle shifters on the hilly streets ( I would have torched a clutch!). Bought my son a 2009 Civic EX in December, but I think the Fit is more fun.
I bought my SSM Sport MT last weekend. I love the handling and the design, both interior and exterior. My only complaints are that the headrest is a bit far forward for my comfort, and the USB interface is initially baffling. I might look into a custom modification for the former, and I’m slowly making headway on the latter (a large hot coffee and several trips back and forth to the computer and now I think I see what it’s doing). Parked on the street here in the city the car looks great, especially after dark. But that first ding (or rat chew?—they took out the engine-temperature gauge on my old ‘91 Accord) can’t be more than a few days away.
funny cause we (wife and I) picked up the same thing on 2/22/09 TW w/ Nav A/T though, the wife can't drive stick for beans.
I just traded in my 08 blackberry m/t for a new taffeta a/t. I like the new one way better and originally wanted white anyways but they decided not to produce any white ones in 08. I like not having to shift all the time too I get lazy ya know!
