new fit owner- 2009 blk sport nav auto questions

been lurking on this site for weeks. finally signed up once i bought it yesterday.

picking up my car today. pretty excited. coming from a civic w 209k miles.

paid 500 over msrp but got the applique, wheel locks and mats. so only like 200 over msrp. not too bad.

first mods will be a tint job and sirius radio. (huge howard stern fan)

has anyone added sirius radio with the nav so that you can control sirius from the nav screen?

later mods
was reading on the air intake. hfit? does this mess with the warranty and is it easy to take apart if i need bring car to dealership?

Congrats. . . You made a great choice. My two cents: I'd avoid tampering in any way with the electronics, i.e. Sirus, BlueTooth, etc. . . You will find aftermarket shops that claim they can modify these cars. Trust me on this: It will void your warranty. You may have fuse problems; wierd occurances . . and Honda, or any other manufacturer will not stand behind your vehicle. If you must do add ons, be certain that it is done by your Honda dealer . . and have it put in writing. Best of luck with the new car. peter

You're probably gonna have a rougher time figuring things like this out since the GE is so new, but mods like this is what this forum is about. Whatever you're talking about would only void your warranty as much as installing a new head unit.

Barams,

If you don't have one yet, I'm selling my XM/Sirius "XpressEZ" portable auto radio. I opened the box but never installed/used it at all.

$30. PM me if you're interested, and congrats on your Fit! I have Crystal Black too.

got it at a dealership near sacramento. went thru a buying service.

thanks for the input on the warranty stuff. i use to mod my outback turbo xt. had a cobb tuning ecu on it. bumped up the hp to 300.

def tint.

xm/sirius head unit i'll hold off for now. thanks for the offer.

i drove my fit thru the sausalito mountains on it's first ride. mpg was 27mpg.

i have been reading about breaking in the car. i'm going with the fully warmed up car then driving it hard.

went on a 100 mile ride today. mostly hwy

some thoughts.

over some parts of hwy the ride was choppy. more choppy than expected, but not a huge deal.

mpg on the trip 32 mpg. driving with the paddle shifters and around 70-75mph.

nice man. baba booey. saw artie two weeks ago in san fran. hilarious. eric the midget, sal, yuko, shuli

mpg- went on a trip approx 150 miles and averaged 37mpg. only have around 300 miles on my new fit. 95% hwy and 5% city.
drove around 65-70. accelerated easy on the hwy. didn't open up the engine. very impressed with the mileage. thought i would get low 30's since the engine is not broken in yet.
i figure if i take it easy and can get 37 mpg that's great. if i want to drive it hard and get 33mpg i'll choose to drive it hard.
