I would like to see an outside temperature through the Navi. I'm wondering if that is possible if we add a sensor. Same thing for Blue-tooth.

Does anybody have a pdf version of the Navi manual? I'm too lazy to pull out the paper copy and love teh ability to search PDFs by keyword.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks! Someone had posted the standard owners manual, but I didn't know where it came from. :-)

Bumping and subscribing. Too good a thread to let die without ANSWERS.

I'm going to look at the splash screen hack now...

I'd love to replace that 1997 Winamp skin they used for the audio interface while I'm at it.

I think the best way to hack would be for someone to reverse engineer that DVD. Unless it is encrypted in batch files and such, it should be possible to create a clone with slight changes in various parts (with images being the easiest).

It would take a talented hacker, an image of that DVD and a testing environment = the navi.

Hi. Newbie here. Just bought new Fit yesterday. I do software and first thing started looking for Map Hacks and whatnot. Do you mind telling me what is the advantage of making a HACK? Does it give updated maps or something? Thanks much!

A day late and a dollar short!

I know I'm late on this one but you could have always hired a hacker/programmer at rentacoder.com

(So they fudge the "BSM" data instead? Do they think we can't do the math?)

Honda will not budge on the issue. Not a chance.

The Ridgeline has always been missing one component (a fuel meter) that would have been required to make the system fully functional, but that data (although not as accurate) is still available via OBDII data.

There have been several software updates to the navigation system since this thread was started. I can't say exactly what has happened, but it appears that Honda/Alpine has taken additional steps to make sure none of the features can be enabled.
I wish this issue had a different ending."

Honda... We don't Care HOW ACCURATE IT IS... WE know IT'S JUST ANOTHER idiot gauge...but we want it anyway!!!!!

This is NOT a copyright issue, or software piracy, or even a legal issue... We just want the functionality the system is capable of!!! Thats ALL!!!

Honda...U want customer dis-satisfaction? Keep locking up functionality!!!

GEES! Ya would think they were VERIZON Wireless or something... ARRG!

Well!!! It looks like the gloves are off! We'll need a hacker with the determination to crack this thing wide open!

Hence this thread... any takers?

Most people want to be able to turn off the OK button you have to press each time the engine starts.

Also, there are some GPS features like speed and direction that are not available in the stock sytem that are evidently in some diagnostic modes.

I drove a new Insight yesterday and it had Navi with Bluetooth. Would it be possible to reverse engineer the software fro the Insight to the Fit Navi? Jim Tubbs jimtubbs@aol.com
