There are 6 speakers in total, front doors, rear doors and cargo shelf. The speakers on the cargo shelf are 6 inch and pretty light, so there's no sag on the tray. The sound system is 100% better now. good enough for me.

And also the tweeters on the front dash?

Aussie Jazz comes with a cargo cover standard, and it's pretty sturdy, but not nearly stiff enough for speakers IMO.

In my old AE82 Corolla, I cut a sheet of 12mm MDF for my 6"x9" speakers using the original cargo cover for a pattern. It was held in place by the original mounts and the seat, so quite safe, and much stiffer than the original for lots of distortion free bass.

If you were going to put a sub in your Fit, I'd say go for 3/4" MDF and put speaker box lining on the underside. Use something to seal the gap between the shelf and the adjustable rear seat and put foam around the other three edges.

Lots of weight, but you need stiffness for good bass.

Use quick-disconnect speaker connectors so you can take the shelf out when you fold the seats.

This is what I don't understand. The Aussie Jazz\Fit is made in Thailand, but we can't buy a cargo cover in Thailand or other parts they put on the models, the same goes for the Civic.

Everything is made on the cheap in Thailand

Your cat should be ok on it, even some speakers.
Oh never mind... my dear kitty cat just died today - literally an hour ago, from a heart attack. breaks my heart...

I did order the stock cargo cover last night and it's shipping today. Too bad my kitty cat will never sit in there... but then, I will have a license plate bearing his name, so he will always ride w/ me, in spirit.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss.... I still remember the morning I found my cat lifeless. Very sad indeed. I reminisced by looking at old baby (kitten) pics of him. Remember the good times, and slowly the pain will subside. My condolensces.
