I agree, but have higher hopes than a lot of you guys for the L15A7. It's high compression & head design should let it breath just as well as, say, a D16Z6 or D16Y8.
The HP bottlenecks will likely be the ECU for affordable tuning & the in-head exhaust mani unlike the aforementioned D-Series engines.

I've been a fan of D-Series engines for a decade & have seen & built some unbelievable power with cheap, simple mods & refuse to accept that Honda made an
untuneable little engine series lol.

My '91 Civic STD hatch for example. Bone stock the D15B1 made 59.5 whp, got it to 117.7 whp with an MPFI swap, stock D16A6 camshaft, I / H / 2.25" quiet
exhaust w/cat & ECU tuning on a 97 degree day...

Now I'm by NO means saying we could pick up +92% hp with the above mods.. D-Series engines were SOO detuned for MPG & reliability..
I'm saying that when the aftermarket & amateur tuners like myself find the bottlenecks in the L15A7 & remove them, there's no reason to
think our little engines can't pick up fat chunks of power & surprise or downright smoke some underestimating drivers. We'll never have
K-Series power N/A but we might see power like my D15B1 above in a few years.. that little car made a lot of people mad lol.

Exhaust may prove a better area to look at, along with looking at chip, but that must surely effect mpg. Fit is a great car, but if you want to mod it up, perhaps you should drop in a vtec, or just buy an si? just a guy talkin'
not only to silence the noise of air being sucked into the manifold, but also and i would say primarily for fuel economy......

also i-vtec has nothing to do with hindering power.... if so, the k20 must suck.... i need me some toda k-i-vtec killer cams!!!!!!..... sorry for being sarcastic....

Here's the pics I just took of the SRI.
Sorry, not much light in my garage, so the pics are kinda dark and I didn't feel like setting up the tripod just to take some intake pics.
Plus I had 6 tires in my way...

Here's one of the car hooked up to the Dyno with the CAI installed.

And last, is the picture that was missing from the original post.

Oh and the vid came out dark as hell, so I won't bother posting it.

Where exactly is the air filter located? Do you think it would be pretty safe from hydrolock?

Thanks, man! This would def. be a seasonal mod up here with the monsoons..
but its a ram-air type induction, typically a great design to make power!

..Hey, it works great for these guys right? lol..

Actually its not a ram-air intake, just a cold air intake. A ram air has some sort of scoop/snorkel/funnel to feed cold air intake to an enclosed filter. Best design IMO. No hydrolock, keeps filter away from heat, and keeps it under pressure by forcing cold air into the chamber. One like this one Password:JDM Dry Carbon Ram Air Induction Kit (S2000) | JDM Honda Parts, JDM Honda Engines / JDM Nissan Motor Swaps, Used JDM Parts - Password JDM

Had that one on my old S2000. An intake like that would easily give you at least 10whp especially at highway speeds. I wish there was room in our engine bay for an intake like this.

Well yes, that is an accurate distinction.. but since the WR intake is exposed in the front bumpers' air dam, not hidden behind the bumper, at speed there would still be a very small "positive manifold pressure" effect like a turbo or closed-box, scoop style ram air like on your S2K or the WS6 I posted.

I would agree its not a "true" ram air tho since it lacks the scoop/snorkel piece, but the increasing wind speeds hitting the filter will still "force" in a small amount more air in than typical tube intakes that aren't exposed to airflow.

Ha ha ha...seriously?????

Sorry WR but I'm not liking the placements of any of your intakes.
Short doesn't utilize the stock air scoop under the hood that supplies cold air behind the battery. Plus the fact the short is right next to the hot engine. Why not place it here like pic OEMfit posted...(circled in yellow)

And back to the CAI...IMO that is not a smart placement for anyone who doesn't live in the desert and gets more than an 1" of rain a year.

With all due respect to WR, I really hope this is not even close to the final product. I was expecing something with a little better placement.

Don't worry guys, you have choices! I'll mostly just wait for the T1R B-Max Intake and it looks somewhat stock which I like.

yeah and be prepared to dish out $400 or so for it, there is like 3-4 companies pushing this exact same intake calling it their own . But I have to admit it looks to be the best option so far.

WR's short ram option is a JOKE, not even attempting to utilize the forced cold air feed on the hood.
