In my opinion there is nothing wrong with bringing up old posts.

 

I agree... IF... there is additional information or value to be added to an existing topic. That's why I don't think they should be locked but a provision put in place to alert people to an essentially dead thread.

Unfortunately, this thread revival usually ends up being the down-side of "search" which most everyone pushes on new members after the first "hey I got a new car, what mods should I add" post.
