Order the lower portion of this...

09 + Honda Fit Billet Grille

...and installed it today.

My main purpose for this was to protect that AC condensor from
flying rocks & debris. Install was simple.

It looks good even with only the lower portion given the vehicle is
silver in color... so it doesn't add another color to the mix.

I might do the upper later.

Paul - post up a pic of that grille. I would be interested in seeing it installed on a SSM Fit.

Drove in probably the worst rain/wind combination in a long time. the fit got bounced around a little bit but the drenched roads didn't have much of an impact. Heavy wind gusts kept me holding tighter to the wheel. Also did the funeral procession run today. Then got to run it back another hour in even worse wind/rain. Had to run the A/C the entire time so I'm guessing the economy will be in the low 30's. We'll see tomorrow when we fill up and head home.

Thanks for the pics, I like the look of that. Was it difficult to install?

The install was very easy.

It came in 2 parts... one upper and one lower. There are 2 studs at the end of each unit which along with 4 nuts and 2 plates hold each unit in place.

Need to remove the shroud cover to gain access to the inside to tighten up the bolts. I had it all done in 15 minutes yesterday morning.

The clips holding the shroud will not all snap into place if the shroud is not completely aligned... particularly the front edge of the shroud that must fit into place. It looks like it is fitting... but really isn't. I can see myself taking this shroud off again in the future... perhaps to do the horn upgrade and clean up the front of the condensor once/year or so.

My concern about the upper portion of this grill that fits around the "H" emblem is that it may look really obvious it is an overlay. This is not so obvious with the lower portion given where it is installed.

I like the install. As far as the upper portion, forget about it and get one of these:

When you get ready for the horn check out the Strebel Nautilus compact.

installed Mugen rain guard / visors yesterday and had most of the later day to test them. My take, not only that these look good and work as it should... it also significantly reduces wind noise

Replaced my Fit badge with a Jazz badge and added a custom made "30+ MPG" vinyl.

Nice! I wanted the Mugen visors myself but there has been sooooo many visor thefts lately (at least here in so cal), I went with the OEM version.

Used the methods in the DIY cargo mat thread to cut out a custom rear mat for both the main cargo area and for when the seats are down as well. Looks really nice. Eventually I need to come up with some way to strengthen that cardboard cover for the spare tire. It's starting to bow inwards already. I also detailed the interior, and added another application of 303 to the interior dash/panels and the exterior trim.

Next weekend I need to wash it. Maybe I'll go ahead and do the DIY mesh grill as well.
