Automatic door lock 09' Fit

I have the new 09' Fit Sport. I noticed that the door locks don't always auto lock when you walk away from the vehicle. Say you just get out of your Fit and walk 100 yards away, if you walk back in say 2 minutes, the doors may or may not be locked. Has anyone else experienced this?

I have a base model, with after-market alarm. Same issue.

My alarm is supposed to auto-arm but not auto lock. Unfortunately, most of the time it does not auto-arm at all... The few times it auto-arms, it auto locks.

So never ever leave your keys in the car! Also, always lock.

2ndly, my car sometimes autolocks the moment i start the ignition. Other times, it auto locks at 9mph like it is supposed to.

Japanese over-engineer their electronics. If you ever visit Japan, you will see glitches like this everywhere. Its only a matter of time before AI emerges..

My sport autolocks if you do not open a door before 2 mins or so after unlocking. IF you open a door, it stays unlocked indefinitely. Haven't nocticed any variation from that at all. It's meant to guard against accidental unlocks when bumping it or in your pocket.

+1 don't think there is any other variation than this.
My CL-S was and my TSX is the same way.

I for one don't want it to autolock. Let me choose when I want it locked.

My Fit is always kept in the garage, so when I get home, I don't lock it. If I need to run out to my car for any reason, I notice that about half of the time, the doors lock themselves, and the other half they don't. What's up with that?

I'm wondering if it might have something to do with whether I unlock the doors with the button to get out of the car, or if I wait and put it in park and have the car automatically unlock the doors.

AT, and I have it set so that when I shift into park, all doors unlock.

1. Turn on Key.
2. Open driver's door.
3. Lock button down, you will hear a click after 5 secs or so.
4. Turn off key within 5 seconds.
Auto locks will now be off. I did it yesterday, Auto locks drive me crazy!!

If the above does not work read the manual and the quick start little book thing, there is other stuff you can do with the locks depending on transmissions.
We are not talking about the doors automatically locking when we are inside the vehicle, we are talking about the doors automatically locking after we exit the vehicle.

I don't see anything in the manual for this.

Does the manual tell you what to do if Mr. Anderson shows up?

Guys: Sorry to say that the 09 Fit manual clearly states that you MUST manually lock the car for the alarm to be set. Using key, remote, etc.. So, there is no hope of autlock?!

Now, my '02 CR-V has a factory alarm, and if I walk away without locking, it *will* automatically ARM THE SYSTEM after 30 secs. It DOES NOT LOCK THE DOORS, but it does arm the system. I was hoping the Fit did the same, but it does not

If I walk away from the FIT, and dont lock the doors, the security system will NEVER activate, and of course doors will remain unlocked. That's not very secure imho for the forgetful folks like me.
