I'm sure once the raining season is over you'll be better. It's not going to keep raining. But saving money instead of modifying the Fit so you have money in the bank is a good idea.

You'd be amazed at how much you excessively spend. I'd look into cutting costs both tangible and intangibly. Get better interest rates, premiums, etc. Then look into personal consumption and see if you can cut things down or out completely. If you've done all of this and are still that tight for cash then look into selling the car.

LOL, its common sense. When I lived as a student I cut down to bare bones by doing exactly what I described. I actually lived pretty well for someone with no money. Its harder with a wife and kid on the way, but it works.

I agree 100%

Instead of getting digital cable w/ dvr just get basic cable, Don't go out to eat (cook dinner at home).... little things like that add up fast.

Modding the car is a very expensive hobby as well. I have to hold back so much sometimes.

Like people mentioned earlier. The rain will stop eventually. I think we will have a dry summer. I too detail on the side and business has been slow because all of the rain. I hope this rain stops because I have 8 semi cabs lined up to be detailed whenever it stops raining at $800 a pop.

Damn man, I hope you don't have to get rid of your Fit, you're one of my favorite SSMs!

To echo what everyone has already said, if I were in your situation (which I almost was if I didn't wait), I would set up a budget and cut out excesses by cutting out things like dining out, tv, clothes, new purchases; eliminate debt; at least try to get a part-time job before selling the Accord and if that's not enough, then sell the Accord since the Fit is more economical; do garage sales and part out your car if you need extra cash; and if all else fails, sell the Fit for a used car or perhaps move to a cheaper place.

I nearly foolishly purchased a Fit against my already thin budget and glad I didn't, especially since I have a suspicion that my company may go bankrupt within the year. I'll be picking up a weekend job to save up for the Fit that I hope to buy in December.

Good luck with everything and I hope you get to keep your Fit.

Your ride is sick man, keep your head up and things will end up okay. Sell the Accord before the Fit. Finacially it's the better way to go.
