I think you hit the nail on the head. This is a fairly light car. I drove mine through a 2.5 inch an hour storm today. I had no trouble in the actual downpour. However, after it started to clear, it DID get a little slippery in the small water pockets in wheel-rutted portions of the road.

Was it the first rain after a long drought?
Used to have Dunlop summer tires on my other car. Let's just say it was "fun" driving the car on wet or snowed in road.
