Well actually I'm considering a down grade to the Fit Sport. I haven't made the jump yet but I'm coming from an '06 S2k. The only reason why I'm considering doing this is that I need to make some sacrifices. I use it as my DD and I absolutely love it.

Though now it's time to be a little bit more responsible and get a lower monthly payment and insurance. Time to pay off all my debts, and start saving money. I will miss my S2k, but it's okay I can live with the decision. I will be able to save money and go on vacations and get ready to start a family. The past 4 years I had several fast cars, but never saved any money really.

After saying that.... anyone want to buy an '06 LBP S2k with 21,500 miles for about 20,500? PM me.

Zac

You talk about your RSX being faster....

Please tell me how often you zoom around faster than the speed limit?

Or, I'll try to explain it for you... I am an idiot because someone bought a HONDA FIT...then is whining about it being slow.. I dont own one or have ever driven one.. and know it's not fast...anyone with half a brain know's that.

And in America, buying "fast" car's is more for bragging rights than anything.. If you drive over the speed limit long enough, usually once if you're going 15-20 over... say bye bye to your car forever and your license's for a year......

I'm from NC as well and you are totally off base about the speeding. Every ticket I ever got was for more than 20 over. I never lost my license, and certainly not my car. I still run 15-20 over routinely on the interstate. In fact, I drive 10-20 over everywhere except school zones and residential areas. I only average 1 ticket every three years or so (knock on wood). I guess the police have successfully brainwashed you into actually driving the speed limit. I bet you would tell me that it's safer to drive the speed limit too.

I'm sorry, but I don't believe that was what happened. No way, unless he was drunk, driving on a suspended license, or refused to pull over. It is not possible, there is no traffic law to support such a seizure of property.

Everyone should really just relax! The OP made a personal mistake and decided to voice his dismay. Far be it from anyone ever having a bit of buyers remorse. Test driving a car with 117 hp is a little different than living with a car with 117 hp. I dont know why this community cannot offer him solutions and suggestions rather than lame duck opinions and useless banter.

How is this for a suggestion for the OP... sell the car, move on to something else and get over it. We should not be expected to validate his dismay or wallow in his remorse. Most of us are adults and made informed decisions. To be apologetic and sympathetic toward the plight of someone who bought a 117hp car and then discovered that it wasn't a hot rod is stupid, period.

LOL a hot rod?! I think the OP just needs to adjust to the Fit. What did you expect going from a Type S to a Fit. I mean if you went from a Type S to the new Si and thought it was slow, than nooow we've got an argument.

Things that may be a discomfort for some owners but i'll vent it out anyway.

- its SUPER SLOW especially on the freeway you guys know what i'm talking about..
- It's GI-normous, it does looks like a mini-oddysey and wtf do i need all the spacious cargo.. im not thinkin of having a family nor kids anytime soon, again this is just me other people can have used for this but not me.
- i DONT NEED the 5 seater since its just me and my girlfriend or my bestfriend who rides with me most of the time so why have 5!? such a waste. Yeah, having 5 passengers sucks it just makes the FIT slower and consumed more gas.
- Drive-by wire, lllllllllllllllaggggggg..
- Seats are uncomfortable and non-adustable with poor lumbar support.
- Gas efficient, i do get 30-35 mpg but in my GE8 but i get close to about 26-30mpg in my RSX-S except the fact that its 91 oct. WTF is the big differences considering that RSX-S is faster and more fun to drive...
- Interior, i'm tired of keep cleaning and keepin it lint/free.. did i mention that it gest scratch to easily, and WTF is with the door panels havin' white stuff on the cloth material part of it..
- I love and have always kept all my previous car clean inside and out, but this car is big that i have to spent an extra hour to clean inside-out.. previous cars are 04 RSX-S, 92 MAXIMA, 97 MIATA...
- Braking power.. do i need to say more..
- Naive and Ignorant people who drives SUV's/trucks/USDM/Stangs/even grandma in an oddysey can outspeed the fit and also has no respect to the FIT .. i dont know but i think its stupid but its really annoyin when people cut you off w/o there signals and seems like they just think they can push you around since the FIT is classified as an ECO car like the yaris, versa, ..

the FIT has treated me well and i love this forum and i met some really cool drivers/users and this site contains a lot of helpful information.. but i think the FIT is not going to do it for me and i'm just about to let it go and i want a car that's faster, possibly a 2-door, possibly an S2000

Next time you buy a car check road tests in C&D, R&T, and even CR. If that doesn't crack 10 seconds 60 to 100 you'll be dissappointed. But then you have to give up something to get 30+ mpg. try a hybrid for real fun
And note CR got 34 mpg on their Fusioon hybrid while C&D got 41 on the highway so good mpg isn't bnecessarily small.

Personally, while I like my Fit a lot, it's a poor highway car. Not enough power, poor drag coefficient, and darty handling in crosswinds. If that's why you bought it, there are better choices. It's a great city car.

Since I drive my Fit regularly at speeds up to 108 mph (see you tube "Fit leading at VIR" compared to "CRX at VIR") I cannot agree that the Fit is only a city car. There are some handling adjustments you need to do. The first is get rid of the 'stock tires. They are cheap and drive like it. Better wheels, 7" and 195/40x17 , 205/45x16, or 205/50x15 come to mind.
Then there is the chassis. Its uproariously understeer does make for dartiness in crosswinds at interstate speeds and needs correction either by deactivating the front bar where only front bar is there, or adding a rear bar wherethere is a front bar and no rear bar. Air shocks on the rear also are an advantage. An alignment is also mandatory.
These are the type of stuff needed on virtually any new car designed for the most inept drivers by legal standards. In other words its difficult to get a track driver from the dealer.
Yes, it is slow as expected for a 1500 cc engine toting 2600 lb.
My RSX ran rings around the Fit too but it should have. Videoed laps confirm esily as it is several seconds faster than the CRXeven on lesser tires. There is no free lunch. My RSK never got over 28 mpg either.

Okay, driving a slow car legally, and driving a fast car legally, are two VERY DIFFERENT THINGS.
If it was impossible to speed, I'd still rather have the faster car. Some people may love it, but I wouldn't want to have to redline my car just to get to fcuking 55.

Just sayin'...
