Hey thanks! I got a base white M/T. Been noticing a lot of 1st gen Fits but not too many new ones.

The Fit basically replaced our back-up/beater but will get lots of use because it's so nice to drive.

91 K5 Blazer

I cfc'd my 91 K5 Blazer for a base Fit auto silver.

I used the Blazer to haul stuff as a back-up vehicle for when my 88 Fiero Formula gives me grief. I took off the good tires and swaped the almost new battery out for one the neighbor had laying around. I felt bad about leaving half a tank of gas in it. It did it's job well, but it was very tired (191,000) and was not worth $1000 let alone $4500. I won;t be able to put an engine in the back of the Fit, but Home Depot and their rental truck is close.

Dash says 43 mpg so far. Blazer 10 to 15 mpg.

I traded in my 1992 Jeep Cherokee Sport. 192k miles on it, rust holes everywhere, tranny was starting to go, 4WD was on the skids, and it literally was a clunker as it clunked everytime I braked to a stop. I couldn't turn the wheel all the way without the power steering fluid leaking everywhere and it smoking really bad. A/C didn't work, the pneumatic device in the hatchback stopped working so I had to balance the door on my head or with an old broom stick that always slipped and caused the hatch door to fall on my head (ouch!). No airbags, stock speakers up until about 3 months ago (which I gave to my boyfriend to put into HIS Jeep Cherokee, haha), and all around good times. In the last month of it's life I spent over 200 dollars making it so I could drive 20 minutes home. The windshield wipers had to be re-welded twice. The rear wiper cable broke. The wrong spark plugs were installed when I first got it. The oil gague was going all possessed on me, the spedometer rarely worked.

The only things that worked in that Jeep (and worked without issue) were the aftermarket stereo that I installed 4 years ago (which is now sitting in my living room) and the heat (which was the best heater EVER)d

I'll miss that Jeep for the rest of my life but I love my Crystal Black Fit.

I killed my old 1998 Nissan Pathfinder. It has been really good to my family, but I'm glad we got the Fit. Getting twice the gas mileage really helps me move past the old guy.

mine was a dark blue 1991 Cadillac coupe deville with only 70k miles. Great running car but looked like crap was never a garaged car..so peeling paint..rusting chrome bumper etc. My other 77 Caddy coupe is showroom condition which i will never part with. Anyways the 91 made way for a 09 sport w/ navi/auto.

Apologize for the disturbance but aside from being a fit afficionado, there came in my time where i was obsessed with Jeeps as they were like monsters but as far as sales is concerned, guess they found difficulty especially now with the presence of other SUVs, which are highly crafted. Anyway, any news about jeep recalls out there...Guess, they have been into issues with some other jeep parts especially for the Cherokee and thus, some of them have been faced out int the market.

300ZX Turbo CFC'd for a Fit back in 2009. :-) Old thread, but interesting reading this.

I've saved a ton of gas, and probably $3k in repairs so far. Calculated out the Fit will pay for itself in a few more years in savings.

I caught some grief for "killing" a good car, but nobody offered to buy it when it was for sale. :-)
