I never thought of myself as a geezer. I just refuse to grow up! Scuba, fly, car race, (legally), Ninja for a bike, 2 Solstices a CR-V and my Fit-09, Base M/T. Love the Fit. The best car I have ever owned. Not as fast as the Solstice, or the Mustang GT I traded a couple of years ago. But it is just fun to drive. (What if they made an Si version of it?)

If they make a 2011 Fit Si M/T ASV, I'm there.

I guess I fit into the geezer category I have an auto, had been driving an 07 civic which I loved but it was a MT and I needed an AT due to an issue with my arm
I get to carry loads of stuff so the fit meets my needs beautifully and the kids and the dog (an old english sheepdog) love it there is plenty of room for all their stuff, nice an comfortable for long trips too

I'm 43 and traded in my POS 1988 Linclon Towncar during the Cash for Clunkers program. I more than qualified!

40 is old?? I am 44 and this is my second vehicle. My first one was a 1991 Suzuki Sidekick that I bought new and had been driving for 20 years with almost exactly 200,000 km until I was rear-ended. The car still ran but the insurance company preferred to pay me for the car since repairs would have surpassed its current value.

I have been driving a 2009 red auto base for less than 3 weeks now and love it! I find it so much easier for packing my ice hockey goalie gear into as well as all my photography equipment for location shoots. My friends say that the car suits me because I am in the creative arts field and am fortunate to look much younger than I really am.

This is actually my second Honda as I also ride a Honda CBR F4i.

Hi:

At 48 I had more than enough cash on the sidelines to buy a new fit.
Picked up a used one at an auto auction for $5,200.00.
First repair will be three small acid holes that "totaled" the car.
(They are about the size of a panny and the big one the size of a quarter).
Then ad crusei control and try to get better ergonomics for my right leg.
Finally, might sell it and look for a car that I do not have the right leg cramping problem.
In either case will not give up my liberty for debt and I am sure I can sell the car and make money on the deal.
I prefer to think of myself as a smart old coot, especailly when I see how much capital most peeps put into their Fit.

I'm 54... don't feel like a geezer but I suppose being in
my 50's places me in the geezer category.

The Fit, which I just purchased last Friday, is my first
Honda vehicle experience and I have great expectations
based on what I have heard regarding reliability and longevity.

Dad was a Mopar fan... having owned Desotos and New Yorkers.

I'm not a fan of any particular brand having owned Chrysler, Ford
and Toyota products. However, given my early experience with the
Honda I am on the road to becoming a Honda fan.

I'm actually a transplanted Canadian living in San Antonio working
for a company here on a work visa. Enjoying my United States and
Texas experience... in particular the year round summer and friendly
folks.

Compared to the majority of the people on this forum, I guess I am an old geezer! I remember Nixon very well… and I mostly care about reliability and MPG’s now.

I still can’t resist the urge to ‘Pimp ze auto” though. I have been lurking on this forum for a while now. I really like seeing what people have done to their Fits. I’ve gotten some great ideas and have found products that I otherwise may never have known about.
I recently lightly tinted my tails and installed a shark fin antenna. I think it looks cool…..YMMV.

So far I am really enjoying my little Honda.

I remember Nixon also... He lied about the U.S. not having combat troops in Laos in 1969 and a whole lot more.

Look at that Coyote, there was a Geezer thread!!!

I just missed the 64 election vote but was all too familiar with LBJ's take on things. He handed me [lottery my ass] an induction notice in 65 Nam to Nixon in 69...........

I like my 2011 Fit Sport AT. I do not love it though. Handling is okay, interior a bit cheaper than i thought it would be. It is my first Honda and the gas mileage is excellent and it is a great small utility type car.

I am close to Geezer status at 41 and the Fit is the slowest vehicle i have ever owned by a large margin. It is very good for what it is designed for but the worst aspect is only being able to get 300 miles on a tank (average combined) as a commuter. A 14gal tank would make this car so much better IMO.

Wow. If you are feeling geezer like at 41 you need to get out and find yourself a young girlfriend.... If you can find a good one you will discover that you won't even need to consider getting a prescription for Viagra.

New geezer here

New to the Fit anyway, and over 50. Probably be driving this thing until I retire. Got the '11 Sport MT and love it. Had Hondas only since 1982, though, and since I get about 250K out of each, this is only the fourth car I have ever owned. Gave my '04 CRV (with only 150Kmi) to my son who just turned 16, so I got the Fit before my usual 10 to 12 year cycle. The CRV was the only car I ever had that got under 30 mpg, and of course I bought it just before gas prices got high. But now I am back to a small econobox where I belong.

My Fit OEM Options - all weather mats, cargo mat, and door visors. Only had it a week and am about to replace the stereo since I listen to a lot of audiobooks and podcasts from a USB stick and it handles these horribly. Besides there not being a pause button, which is stupid but you can live without it, if you lose your place in the middle of a 2 hour podcast, to get back you need to hold the fast forward button down about 15 minutes without releasing it. Try that next time you are driving a manual around town. Yeah, I should just stream from my phone, or get an iPod, but I would rather have the convenience of a good quality ergonomic stereo, with the side benefit of getting rid of the huge monstrosity that is there now.

Other than the stereo, though, I love this car.
