Honda Homelink With No Headliner Cutting
heres how i did mine, i took the wires from the grey hardness clip that came on the accord and put them on the fit clip black(ground) in the middle lt green on the corner, they fit perfectly. these wires connect to the same color wire on the green hardness and then the blue from the dome light goes to the green/red on the green hardness
i have the base model and I see an impression in the headliner for the map light,
2 questions:
1. is there a wiring hardness under the headliner that I can use or tap into?
2. is there enough depth for maplight/sunglass storage combo overhead unit from say an oddy?

ok...so i finally picked up an odyssey homelink map light (found one on ebay for $30). sucky part was no harness so i jus fabbed up one from a computer drive. so anyways, i was wondering if it is possible to just tap the 12v power for the homelink into the maplight power wire (pink wire I believe) and just ground the black wire?
I don't want to risk shorting anything so I just thought I'd ask.

I have read in another post ( will post link later from home pc) the OP did what you want above,
just try it outside the vehicle with a 12v powersource, also there is another post to a 12v battery conversion for the homelink,
don't forget to post some pics :-)
okay, got it to work. here's some crappy cellphone pics. these were taken at 6am in the morning before I started work so bare with me:
so here's the computer harness/power wire from a floppy drive i believe "P4" that I used since my homelink didn't come w/ a harness. I had to trim it a little to make it fit snugly (I'm only using the home link function..i would've needed something longer width wise to access the ambient light function).

here it is plugged into the homelink:

and here is the tap into the 12v for the map lights (pink) wire...sorry for the flash. again...this is a crappy cellphone camera:

and it works:

...now its just a matter of programming it. can't wait to get rid of that ugly remote clipped onto my visor.

I got a odyssey homelink map light unit off of ebay and was hoping to use the whole unit with sunglass storage in my 2009 base. For anyone else with this hope, there is no depth for the sunglass area and the roofs metal bracket has legs that would prevent you from installing it without some bending or sawing off. I ended up just making hole for 34404-SNA-A01ZD - Map light base and using the lenses and guts from the odyssey unit. The roof head liner has an indentation on the inside that lets you know where hole edges are. I just had to feel and cut carefully.
I followed Zalthras' instructions for the connections, since I have the Navi.
Even with the existing bolts it is very secure, I did get longer bolts which I've installed and it it perfect, I will update the other thread with the part #'s soon.
Thanks in advanced!
Harness Wiring
Connections that need to be made, two of which are pin transfers from the TSX maplight:

First we’ll start with the wiring connections that will be made between the Homelink and Maplight units themselves (Chassis GND & Intermediate GND). Flip over the maplight you just removed from your Fit.
Now put everything back together.
***IMPORTANT - Remember that the Homelink’s GND is through the mounting bolt, so test after the base is bolted back into the ceiling***

Finished mine last night. I found a 05 Accord Homelink unit in the salvage yard, it was brown so i just pained it black till i can find a grey one to match the interior. Mine is a sport w/o Navi so i ordered the Navi map lite housing from Honda, and used the light covers from the Accord unit. I didn't wire up the door switch or the ambient lite so i just removed those wires. I tapped the white/blue to the pink power for the lights, and put a ring terminal on the black and put it under the screw. Works like a charm.
