Simple interior lighting fix?
Quick & cheap is to buy a LED type little flash light. Store it in glove box or one of the cubby holes. I use one all the time - bright light and easy to read maps or whatever. Got mine at the dollar store.
There are a couple of threads here for the searching about putting in a set of map lights from the sport model, which can either be ordered as spare parts or probably found used from a junkyard. There is a little work involved in putting them in, but nothing too complex. I gather the trickiest parts were neatly cutting the headliner (so the fabric doesn't look pulled) and fishing wires from the dome light over. The factory wiring harness for the base doesn't have the wires for the map lights.
Simpler implies something along the lines of a flashlight or possibly something that plugs into the lighter jack. There are many little flashlight-like lamps made with clips and bendable arms, often advertised as book lights or music stand lights or similar. They would probably work well.

back when we were rallying we used a light plugged into cig lighter. for our computer we dualled the cig lighter plug-in. both are avaiable in aftermarket stores. don't think they are more than $6.
