j-swap

I really want to do a j-series swap preferably the j35, i was wondering if anyone here knew which model would be best and if any of the harnesses line up with some of the models that have drive by wire, of if putting in a throttle cable for a non drive by wire system would be better, they put a j35a4 from an oddyssey in an eg hatch and i think it should easily fit inside a ge8 as well, im buying the motor in the next couple weeks as long as i can be assured it WILL fit somehow, thanks yall

If that thing goes into the Fit, the F/R weight distribution would end up being something like 72/28.

I take it this would be strictly for drag? If this is the route you really want to go, I hope it works out for you. I'm not into drag racing at all, but it would be cool to see the J stuffed into a GE.

i think the only people who can assure you that it'll fit are people who have done it (if they exist).

but i thought you were talking about a 1jz or 2jz swap at first. i almost threw up on my keyboard.

hmmm. I'm not so sure it would squeeze in there. The fit engine bay is not that big and swapping such a heavy engine into a GE8 chassis would create quite a few problems with handling, braking etc....

Just mount it in the trunk and make it a rear engine race car.

My friend and I looked a the bay for a j32 swap. Could probably maybe do it, just going to be a lot of work. Definitely going to have to hack and cut the firewall and sides. Do they have tuning software for a j35? To me anything is possible man I'm going to do a build in the fall.

^ Doubt it.

Probably like all those other threads - "I got a Fit and I'm going to swap a K-series/B-series/etc."

I wonder how many were serious and actually went through with it.

There is a picture of a Hasport/Eibach CRZ with a J in its bay in the supporter section on k20a.org....yep, hood clears. The fit bay has almost identical dimensions so there is an extremely high likelihood that a J will fit into a Fit w/o any cutting (in fact, the CRZ and Fit use the same Hasport K mounts).

The fit bay looks deceptively smaller than it really is because the windshield is pulled past the firewall...the bay is actually pretty tall and allows the hood to clear the J (at least on the CRZ).

I did a corrado vr6 swap with non plus suspension years ago and it was front heavy , I found the secret sauce by lowering the back of the car about an inch and that changed the weight distribution to the back of the car and then it handled around corners like a dream

J 35Y in a fit would be so fucking bad ass
